The 16th China International Advertising Festival opened last Friday at the Nanning International Exhibition Center.
During the 3-day festival, an advertising exhibition was held to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of New China.
The exhibition presented more than 500 print advertisements of various historical periods of New China, from the earliest black-and-white ad's to recent colorful charity ad's.
This is New China's first lonely hearts ad. Compared with the recent garish lonely hearts ad's, it's plain and simple.
Many visitors were attracted by ad's for "three articles for daily use" which traditionally include a watch, a sewing machine, and a bicycle.
The advertising exhibition mirrors the historical changes of New China as well as the changes in the everyday lives of common people.
