The TV war epic "Sword from Heaven" opens on December the 31st. This week, a press conference was held in Beijing to publicize the ambitious production.

"Sword from Heaven" features performances by Liu Jinshan, Lian Yiming and Xu Yaqi. In the story, Liu Jinshan again plays the villain.

Liu Jinshan, actor, said, "I couldn't do anything about it. It seems bad guys have become my specialty. I have played lots of villains and built a reputation for it. Maybe that's why they came to me. "

The male lead is played by Lian Yiming, who also wears the director's cap. He said he had to overcome unimaginable difficulty in making the series.

Lian Yiming, actor, said, "At first I was ill at ease. When my scenes came I simply couldn't get the feel for it. To make matters worse, there was no one to give me advice. After all, I myself was the director. It took me a long time to get used to such a double role."

"Sword from Heaven" follows the life of General Wang Jinzai, a legendary commander during China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Despite having some minor faults, the military genius was actually quite a likeable character.
