Harlem Yu, one of the most acclaimed singers and songwriters in Mando-pop music, held a solo concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum last weekend. Let's get a taste of what the packed house heard.

Harlem Yu has enjoyed a successful career, spanning 23-years in the Great China region, and it's no wonder why. The Taiwan-based singer wowed his Hong Kong fans with a dazzling performance.

During the three-hour sold out show, the music veteran invited his friends, Hong Kong's well-known singer Jacky Cheung and popular model Chrissie Chow, to be guest performers.

Yu introduced rap and R n' B to the Chinese music scene in the mid 1980s, when he released his debut album in Taiwan. He was also the first Chinese artist to be invited by MTV to perform an 'Unplugged' concert in London.

The singer balanced his music in Western and Eastern cultures. He re-arranged old Chinese songs, giving them a modern rhythm for the younger generation to enjoy.

In addition to music, Yu also hosts TV shows in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and occasionally appears in movies and TV dramas.
