Bullock was there to accept the dubious honor of a Razzie award for Worst Actress in the much-maligned "Steve".

Sandra Bullock said, "I think this is an extraordinary award. And I didn't realize that, in Hollywood, all you had to do was say you'd show up and then you'd get the award. If I'd known that, I would have said I was appearing at the Oscars a long time ago. But this is really wonderful for the most important reason, because they said no one went to go see this film. I know there's over 700 members here and, if I won, that means the majority of the 700 had to have voted, so that means 352?"

Bullock said she was giving a copy of the "Steve" DVD to everyone in the audience, implying that many Razzies members had not actually seen it, but just voted for the performance to get her to come to the ceremony.

Screenwriter J.D. Shapiro came to claim the Worst Picture of the Decade award for co-writing the 2000 John Travolta sci-fi flop "Battlefield Earth."

J.D.Shapiro, screenwriter, said, "Well I can dream, you know. First of all, I want to thank the studio for sticking for their convictions, and firing me for sticking to mine. I want to really thank Corey Mandel for rewriting my screenplay in a way I never, ever, ever could have imagined or conceived of myself. I especially want to thank the dozens and dozens of people who went to see the movie."

The year's other big winners included The Jonas Brothers as Worst Actor for "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" as Worst Picture.
