The relics' history range from the Shang Dynasty, to the Western Zhou to the Spring and Autumn Period. In other words from the 16th Century BC to the 5th Century BC..

These vessels cost private Chinese collectors a total of 300 million yuan, or 44 million US Dollars, to purchase and bring back to their homeland.

A tripod made in the early Spring and Autumn period has commanded the most attention. The inscription inside it claims that the vessel belonged to the King of Wu.

According to the event's host, Kang Jianyi, there were nine tripods at first but now only one of them is housed on the mainland by a private collector.

Kang also notes its a rare chance to see these treasures together. He hopes it will inspire Chinese people to care more about traditional culture.
