If you're a home theater fan, you're probably very interested in DVDs. They're likely the reason you bought all your fancy equipment. In today's "Countdown", we list the top five DVDs in terms of North American sales.
NO.5 Toy Story: 10th anniversary edition
1996's "Toy Story" was the first full-length computer animated feature film. To celebrate the film's 10th anniversary, a special anniversary DVD was released. Thanks to picture and audio enhancements, "Toy Story" shines even brighter on DVD than it did in theaters. With deleted scenes and a retrospective with director John Lasseter, "Toy Story" on DVD is something movie buffs can enjoy to infinity and beyond.
NO.4 Sin City: recut & extended
The film adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel met with rave reviews upon its release. The superstar cast also added to the film's luster. The DVD features over 20 minutes of additional footage and an interview with director Robert Rodriguez.
NO.3 Crash
Urban drama "Crash" tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast. The film examines fear and bigotry from multiple perspectives as characters careen in and out of one another's lives. Lead Sandra Bullock won top acting honors at this year's People's Choice Awards. Though "Crash" had less than stellar box office results, the DVD version is something Bullock fans can't miss.
NO.2 Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith
"Revenge of the Sith" has ranked among the top five selling DVDs since its release last November. The film is the darling of many home theater fans who want to test their audio-visual equipment.
NO.1 Batman Begins
"Batman Begins" is reaping the benefits of the current craze over comic characters. The movie ranked high on last year's box office charts, and the DVD is meeting with equal success. For many movie buffs, "Batman Begins" is a must-have for their DVD collections.
