In China, rescue teams have been battling to save people who may still be alive in the rubble of collapsed houses, schools and office buildings after an earthquake struck the remote Qinghai province. China's central leadership urged all-out efforts to rescue trapped people in the quake zone. Emergency services from surrounding areas have been sent into Yushu County. Efforts have been stepped up to transfer and treat the injured timely and effectively, and authorities well settled quake-affected people. The central leadership also called for intensified measures to be taken to prevent epidemic diseases and rebuild infrastructure. Now Yushu rescue tops China’s agenda.
