Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, says his country is ready to initiate a new round of talks with the world's six major powers. Tehran has also prepared a revised package of proposals.

The top Iranian nuclear negotiator says the revised package is based on global developments over the last year.

It's also a basis for nuclear talks.

Saeed Jalili, Iran's Top Nuclear Negotiator, said, "The package of proposals from the Islamic Republic is updated and is ready to be presented. We hope that the new round of nuclear talks will be held to help us make a road of progress, justice and peace"

The United States and other Western countries claim that Iran intends to secretly develop nuclear weapons.

The UN Security Council has called for Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment activity.

But Iran insists that its nuclear plan is only for peaceful purposes. And it has vowed to continue its uranium enrichment activity despite pressure and sanctions from Western nations.

The US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany jointly issued a statement in April, inviting Iran to have direct negotiations over its nuclear issues.

Iran then expressed willingness for constructive dialogue, but still held on to pushing forward its nuclear program.

Diplomats from the six countries are scheduled to meet in Germany on Wednesday to further discuss Iran's nuclear program.
