Ecuadorian students have taken to the streets to protest their right to free education. They clashed with police.
The students are protesting a law being debated by the national assembly that could allow fees at public universities, which are currently free.
The demonstration started peacefully but got heated when they arrived outside government house.
One student climbed fencing and got onto the balcony of the building to address other protesters. Police eventually dispersed the crowd with tear gas.
