October 27th marks the annual UNESCO Audio-visual Heritage Day. Following the three-day world conference of the International Federation of Television Archive, FIAT/IFTA is celebrating the World Audio-visual Heritage Day in Beijing.
Federation president Herbert Hayduck says that the world media community has a common responsibility to save audio-visual archives, many of which are on the verge of being lost. He's also commended the achievements of China Central Television in preserving audio-visual archives.
