SADC chair mediates Zimbabwe riff

Southern African Development Community chair, Joseph Kabila, has arrived in Zimbabwe's capital, Harare.

He will mediate the political riff between Zimbabwean Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, and President Robert Mugabe.

Tsvangirai's party has reported a recent surge in political violence. But Mugabe's party denies the allegations, and has accused Tsvangirai's party of not doing enough to persuade Western nations to lift travel and financial sanctions. Kabila has called for unity within the Zimbabwean government.
