Two moderate earthquakes have hit northwest China's Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces. No casualties have yet been reported.
An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale struck Gaoling County in Shaanxi at 7:30 A-M Thursday. The epicenter was at the depth of about 6 kilometers. The tremor was felt in the provincial capital Xi'an. Earlier, a 5.1-magnitude quake at a depth of 6 kilometers jolted the Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai just before 6 AM.
