Japan's self-defense forces have conducted week-long joint military drills involving the army, navy and air force at Kyushu. It's their second such field exercise to sharpen cooperation.
Japan's self-defense forces deal with foreign invasion, terror attacks and disaster response. They held their first joint military exercises a year ago, which have become an annual routine.
40-thousand personnel are involved this time, four times more than last. More than a thousand tanks, 3 hundred warplanes and 6 warships are being deployed.
The drill is to test the forces' ability in island protection and dealing with disasters.
