The panel overseeing a deal to end the four-month political crisis in Honduras has expressed optimism and say they will present their progress to Congress by as early as Friday.

On Wednesday, ousted President Manuek Zelaya met Jorge Arturo Reina, his representative on the four-member truth-finding panel, as well as other aides.

Reina left open the possibility of a caretaker government being installed with neither Zelaya nor Micheletti at its head.

Jorge Arturo Reina, Zelaya's Representative, said, "We still need to discuss specifically the details of the documents. But this is the basic idea and the measure should be installed tomorrow."

Last week, Zelaya and de facto leader Roberto Micheletti reached a US-brokered deal.

The deal calls for the Honduran Congress to vote on whether to reinstate Zelaya before the presidential election on November 29th.

On Tuesday, head of the four-member panel, US Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and former Chilean President Roberto Lagos, arrived in Honduras, to oversee the implementation of the deal.

The Congress is to announce its final decision after considering the opinion of the Supreme Court.

To be restored to power, Zelaya needs at least 65 votes out of 128 deputies of the Congress.
