US suspected serial killer in court

A convicted rapist has been charged with multiple murders after police found 10 corpses at his home.

Anthony Sowell appeared in a US court on Wednesday. Authorities arrested him over the weekend for rape. But when police entered his house they found two decomposing bodies on a floor upstairs, and have since dug up a total of ten corpses.

The county coroner's office says a skull found in his basement belongs to a body they haven't found. Authorities say they have identified one of the victims.

Sowell is accused of five aggravated murder counts, rape, felonious assault and kidnapping. Prosecutors say he may face the death penalty.
