Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says a deal to end a four-month political crisis is at risk of collapse. (TAKE VIDEO) Hundreds of Zelaya supporters gathered outside of Congress on Thursday to press for his reinstatement.
The protesters say they will refuse to vote if Zelaya is not returned to power before the November 29th presidential election. Zelaya and de facto leader Roberto Micheletti signed an agreement last week to end their standoff.
Under the agreement, the Honduran Congress will decide whether Zelaya will be restored to power. The agreement also includes the creation of a national reconciliation government that was to have been done by Thursday.
However, the Congress on Wednesday discarded the immediate restitution of Zelaya, saying that everything will be done step by step.
Roberto Suazo, Zelaya Supporter, Resistance Movement, said, "If the president Zelaya is not reinstated by midnight November 5th, the Resistance Movement against the coup will not recognize the electoral process and its results."
