The US anti-dumping action against Chinese oil well pipes is the biggest against China so far. It involves some 3.2 billion US dollars worth of steel pipe products. Experts say the impact will be severe and steel companies should take steps to avoid risks in trade friction.

Zhou Xuehai, general secretary of China Chamber of Int'l Commerce, said, "It involves about 90 Chinese steel enterprises, and hundreds of thousands of Chinese jobs. The impact is huge. Chinese products have long engaged in price competition, I think enterprises should strive to improve their technology level and added value. And as there are much more often trade friction now, they should set up some early warning mechanism to find and cope with the risks in trade."
