In a separate incident one day after the Fort Hood tragedy the man accused of killing one person and injuring five others in a shooting rampage in Orlando, has appeared in a Florida court.
On Saturday, a state judge ruled that suspected shooter Jason Rodriguez be held without bond on a first-degree murder charge. He is accused of opening fire at his former employer's office.
The 40-year-old had worked for 11 months as an engineer at the Orlando office of a consulting company before being laid off for substandard performance.
The suspected gunman was arrested at his mother's home after fleeing the scene.
