Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |

Chinese veterinarian officials have said no pigs have been found infected with A/H1N1 virus yet on the mainland. The Agricultural Ministry has called on local authorities to boost monitoring for the disease.

Strict monitoring is being urged for pigs before and during delivery to markets. Officials said pork sold at markets is safe.

The ministry has prepared for emergency plans to be launched immediately once infected pigs are detected. Vaccines have been stocked and are ready for use. Chinese pig raisers have been urged to step up prevention and closely monitor their swine for flu symptoms.
