Somali pirates have hijacked a Greek-owned bulk carrier in the Gulf of Aden near Yemen. The vessel was taken off the Yemeni port of Balhaf on Thursday but news of the seizure only emerged Saturday.

However, the Greek merchant marine ministry says the ship's managers have not confirmed the incident. The Ministry also says it doesn't know the number of crew members, or their nationalities.
