Chinese national identified as gunman in Saipan shooting case

A Chinese national has killed at least four people in a shooting incident on the Pacific Island of Saipan. The suspected shooter has been identified as 42-year-old, Li Zhongren. He killed four people and wounded eight others before turning the gun on himself Friday.

Local police said the suspect left notes expressing financial and emotional distress before he carried out the shooting. The Chinese Consulate-general in Los Angeles was shocked by the incident and expressed hope local authorities would deal with the incident properly.
