France and Rwanda have agreed to restore diplomatic ties after they were severed three years ago when a Paris judge accused the Rwandan President of ordering his predecessor's assassination.
The decision was made after French President Nicolas Sarkozy's chief of staff met President Paul Kagame in Rwanda on Sunday.
Bernard Kouchner, French Foreign Minister, said, "We have tried to end our misunderstanding. President Sarkozy and Rwandan President Paul Kagame decided to re-establish normal relations, and we are going to dispatch diplomats again."
