President Hu pledges Macao a better future with central government's support

President Hu Jintao left China on Saturday morning for working visits to Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. On Friday, the president attended an exhibition in Beijing marking Macao's achievements and the 10th anniversary of its return to the motherland. He says Macao will have a better future with the central government's support and hard work of the people in Macao.

Visiting the exhibition at the Capital Museum on Friday, president Hu Jintao offered high praise for the achievements of the Macao Special Administrative Region over the past decade.

He notes Macao has undergone an extraordinary development since its return to the motherland on December 20th, in 1999.
