Public security used to be a headache for the local authorities in Macao. But things have been improving since the Special Administrative Region was established. Stability and safety allow people to enjoy a peaceful life and attract a large amount of foreign investment.

Huang Binggui, police officer of Macao SAR Judiciary Police, said, "Our policemen are required to be able to shoot with either hand during training. Then they can use the other hand to shoot if one gets hurt on duty. They are trained to deal with all kinds of emergencies."

Zhang Guohua, director of Security Dept., Macao SAR Gov't, said, "We have played a more active role in safeguarding public security after Macao's return. We've cracked down hard on organized crime and gangs ever since then. We also have close cooperation with Mainland police. All that leads to good social order in Macao."

Zhou Weiguang, dept. director of Macao SAR Judiciary Police, said, "Good security has attracted lots of foreign investment to Macao. And many job opportunities are created. That is a boost to Macao's economy."
