Special Report: Macao 10 Years On |

Question 1: Mangmang, the big day is just two days away. What news have you got about the celebrations?

The city is getting ready for its biggest party in ten years. During the next two days, we'll be even busier covering different events. The closer it gets to Sunday, the more pressure there is.

President Hu Jintao will be arriving in Macao tomorrow to appoint the new chief executive and attend the anniversary celebrations. He'll attend a welcome banquet and a performance by local artists in the evening.

On Sunday, Pressident Hu Jintao will appoint Chui Sai On and his government team. And all these events will take place in the East Asian Games Dome, which is behind me.

And there'll be plenty more going on elsewhere, including an inspection of the PLA Garrison, a get-together for young people from the Mainland city of Zhuhai and Macao, and a groundbreaking ceremony of the new campus of the University of Macau.

And Macao's biggest fireworks display will light up the sky from seven locations Sunday evening.
