Leaders from the Union of South American Countries, or UNASUR, have been meeting in Ecuador, to look at ways of helping with the reconstruction of Haiti.

Tuesday's one-day summit in the capital Quito was organized by the country's President, Rafael Correa.

Suggestions raised at the meeting included sending equipment for the construction of homes and schools, as well as experts to help rebuild the Caribbean nation's infrastructure crippled by last month's earthquake.
