Tsunamis hit Pacific coastlines

Dozens of nations and regions along the Pacific coastlines are on alert for destructive waves.

The warnings stretch across the globe from South America to the Pacific Rim, including the coastal areas of Mexico, the US, Russia, Japan and China.

Also expecting impact from tsunamis are the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and New Zealand. The tsunamis could cause high waves and severe damage.
