Special Report: 2010 NPC & CPPCC Sessions |

For more analysis, we're now joined live by Professor Xue Lan from Tsinghua University. Hello, Professor Xue.

Q1. We know there is fierce competition in the Chinese College Entrance Examination, which is so far the most common way for students to gain access to higher education. In China's medium-to-long-term education reform and development plan, reforming the college entrance examination has drawn much attention. Could you give us more details about this?

Q2: Yesterday, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said he hoped the administrative rankings of colleges would be removed. And we notice that plan also calls for allowing teaching faculty, instead of the administrative staff, to play the leading role in schools. Why is this the case?

Q3: Fiscal investment in education has been growing year on year, but the country's 4-percent-of-GDP target for education investment has not yet been met. If the goal can be realized, what will this mean for schools and students?
