Special Report: 8.8 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Chile |

Chilean President, Michelle Bachelet, arrived in quake-ravaged Constituction, to visit people affected by the disaster.

Bachelet greeted residents in neighborhoods completely shattered by the 8.8 magnitude quake. She also toured emergency homes built by a Chilean charity group.

The outgoing President was the most popular leader in Chile's recent history and the South American country's first female leader. But her government is being criticized for their response to the quake.

Michelle Bachelet, Chilean President, said, "It hurts, it hurts, I love my people. That pain makes me work harder to advance as soon as possible to recuperate.

With the new government that comes in three days, we tried to present all of our experience, knowledge and collaboration so that our people will be okay."
