Shanghai low-carbon transport card

Visitors to the expo can travel in an environmentally friendly way with the launch of the world's first low carbon target transport card. It's aimed at pushing forward green travel to see the World Expo.

The Travel Expo Green Card has the added function of lowering carbon dioxide. Each card sells for 40 yuan, with 20 yuan going towards a ton of carbon dioxide reduction target cost. This means that for every card sold, the cardholder will contribute a ton of carbon dioxide reduction target for the Expo. Authorities say the World Expo is expected to produce 9 million tons of carbon emissions, more than 80 percent coming from transport.

The Travel Expo Green Card has the added function of lowering carbon  dioxide.
