Satellite tracking and remote sensing techniques are applied to the sudy of wild animals; a mature technique which has been widely used in the study of marine animals, big mammals and birds. Using a satellite tracking technique to track and investigate antelopes is quite significant in evaluating the influence on the antelopes by the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and the regular patterns of movement or migration of antelopes in the future. After more than one year''s supervision, neither the animal passes established along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway nor the operation of the railway itself has largely influenced the animals. The style and the location of the animal passes are appropriate and, even with the operation of the railway, has not shown a big effect on the animals.
