Zhu Shanshan wins women's archery

In the women's archery final, 20-year-old Zhu Shanshan from Shanxi faced Guo Faping of Xinjiang. Both performed well before making it through to the finals: Zhu Shanshan had upset defending champion Qian Jialing, while Guo Faping had equalled the national games record in the semis. The match was a close one, their last three shots both making 26 points.

They found themselves level after the second round with 53 points.

But in the third round, it was Zhu Shanshan who found her form and led 73-70.

--In the final round, Zhu Shanshan got 10 points and to lead Guo Faping by 4 points. The dark horse went on to clinch a gold for Shanxi 109-105, the first time the province has won gold in this event.
