Italian football's Inter Milan looked to keep its place at the top of Serie A. But a visiting Catania side presented a strong challenge for Sulley Muntari, Wesley Sneijder and their teammates at the San Siro.

In the 13th minute, Ghana midfielder Muntari started the scoring...he lofted the ball into the Catania area, over the keeper into the net the quick attack kept Catania keeper Andrea Campagnolo frozen in place.

Inter kept the pressure on the visiting side...Patrick Viera gets to a cross, shoots and hits the cross bar...and the score remains 1-0.

Just pass the half hour mark. Wesley Sneijder's right-footed free-kick doubled the lead. 2-Nil for Inter.

Six minutes from time. Inter keeper Julio Cesar brought down Gianvito Plasmati. Bad play for Inter, penalty kick for Catania.

Catania substitute Guiseppe Mascara scores to make it 2-1 and that's the way the match would end.

Final score: Inter 2, Catania 1.
