Rogge satisfied with 2014 Winter Olympics preparation

IOC president Jacques Rogge has given his full support to the organizers of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Rogge made his comments on Tuesday at the signing of an extension of a sponsorship contract between the IOC and Visa. Sochi was awarded the 2014 Games at the IOC session in Guatemala in July 2007, and needs to build most of the sports venues and infrastructure from scratch. Rogge had high praise for the pace of the preparations.

IOC president Jacques Rogge said, "I would like to say that we are extremely pleased with the pace and quality of the organisation. It has been now a very interesting time since the decision that was taken in July 2007 in Guatemala city. (It's been) Little over two and a half years and I am very, very glad about the progress."
