Beside those famous stars like Liu Xiang and Guo Jingjing, the National Games was also a stage for some teenage rising stars to showcase their skills.

This is the first time some of them have taken part in the National Games, but their achievements bode well for the future of China's sport.

This is the youngest champion in the National Games, 14 year old Li Zhesi of the Liaoning team. In the Women's 50m freestyle final, she overpowered veterans like Pang Jiaying and Zhu Yingwen to win the gold in a time of 24:56 seconds. This after being part of the team that won the 4x100m medley relay at the Rome Championships.

Li Zhesi of Liaoning Team says, "My psychological status is good. I don't feel very nervous.I just try my best."
