Sebastian Vettel secured second place in the Formula One drivers' championship thanks to victory in Sunday's season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Mark Webber finished second to earn the Red Bull team the top two spots.
The Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi had been praised in all quarters - but it failed to produce a Grand Prix brimming with incident.
There was an early bump for Rubens Barrichello - the damage proved to be only superficial.
Toro Rosso's Jaime Alguersuari suffered an embarrassing pit stop mis-hap. Alguersuari's crew was not out for his stop and he mistakenly stopped at the waiting Red Bull pit crew. Red Bull though, waved him on - Alguersuari was forced to retire soon after.
And there was an premature departure for polesitter Lewis Hamilton. The Briton led up to the first set of pit stops, but retired soon after due to a right rear brake failure on his McLaren. Alguersuari and Hamilton were the only men who failed to complete the 55 laps and neither McLaren nor Ferrari would score a point.
That meant McLaren held on to third place in the constructors' championship.
It has been a hugely disappointing campaign for Robert Kubica. Rated by many as the fastest driver of the lot, the Pole has been hampered by a poor BMW Sauber car. He's off to Renault next year.
The Toyota driver Kamui Kobayashi did excel on Sunday. He was filling in for the injured Timo Glock and earned his first F1 points after finishing sixth.
The best action in the race came very late on. Button challenged Mark Webber for second place in the closing laps and although the Briton managed to draw level with the Australian on a couple of occasions, he couldn't pass him.
At the front though, Sebastian Vettel cruised to victory.
The 22-year-old spearheaded Red Bull's fourth one-two of the season with the fifth win of his career before Webber held off Button by just 0.6-of-a-second.
