2009-11-04 14:20 BJT

Some of the top drivers in motorsports are in Beijing to decide who is the best. They are taking part in the 2-day 2009 Race of Champions at the Bird's Nest Olympic stadium. The drivers are competing head-to-head, but their strongest challenge might come from their machines.

CCTV reporter Tony Perkins said, "The Race of Champions is built on a simple idea: find out who is the best racing driver in the world. How do you do that? You bring them to one place, put each in an identically prepared car, on the same purpose-built track, and let them go as fast as they can."

The Race of Champions happens on a twisting, kilometer-long track inside a football stadium. The international cast of driving talent ranges from veteran world rally championship pilots to young thrill-seekers who gained fame from the X-Games.
