It's been a great World Weighlifting Championships for China, but the final of the women's 53 kg event is probably one China's Chen Xiaoting would like to forget. The final for the Chinese, marred by technical errors in South Korea.

In her final attempt in the clean and jerk, Chen Xiaoting applied to increase the weight of her lift from 126kg to 127kg. After submitting her application, Chen then stood by, waiting for her next attempt.

However, as Chen was waiting Chinese head coach Ma Wenghui suddenly noticed that the time clock for Chen's lift was still running, despite no changes being made to Chen's weight. With almost no time left, Chen had to run out to finish her lift. With only 7 seconds left, Chen failed her attempt at 126kg.
