Inter Milan beat Fiorentina 1-0

Excitement from Italy's Serie A, as Diego Milito's penalty five minutes from time gave Inter Milan a 1-0 home win over Fiorentina on Sunday. Inter extended its league lead to seven points with the victory.

5 minutes after restart, Inter provided a cross for Walter Samuel's close-range header, but the referee said no-goal pointing to a foul on the play. The slow motion showed Samuel pulling Fiorentina defender Dario Dainelli's shirt, no score.

Fiorentina nearly scored after 80 minutes, Striker Alberto Gilardino took control of a long pass but his strike hit the post. Still scoreless.

6 minutes from time, Gianluca Comotto brought down Diego Milito. Comotto received a yellow card, and Inter received a penalty kick attempt. Milito converted. He scored the only goal of the match as Inter extended its lead in Serie A.
