Racing teams continue to fill up the dance card for the new Formula One season. Force India unveiled its new machine with some innovative performance pieces, including an optimized double diffuser and gearbox.
The team says evolution rather than revolution was the idea behind the VJM 03. Regulation changes allowed the car to be significantly bigger both in length and width than its predecessor. That means it can hold extra fuel, in-line with the decision to rule out in-race refueling. The team is confident, but careful not to let expectations get carried away.
Team leaders say they've made great strides in the past couple of seasons, and believe Force India can threaten some of the more established teams in the sport. The new car will have its first official test in Spain on Wednesday. Force India hopes it can live up to its name in 2010 after a full winter of development on an already impressive car.
