In AFC Champions League action this evening, China's Shandong Luneng side was at home in Jinan, as Australian side Adelaide United were looking for win on the road in group H action.

The home side squandered their first clear-cut chance in the 8th minute, striker Han Peng right footed a powerful strike from a tight angle, but Adelaide keeper Eugen Galekovic made a great save.

Midway through first half, Adelaide opened the scoring through Sergio Van Dijk. The Dutchman got on the end of Lucas Pantelis' teasing cross at the back post to head the Reds into the lead.

Things got worse for Shandong 20 minutes from time, Shandong's poor defence left Mathew Leckie unmarked, who met an unchallenged Scott Jamieson's corner and hammered the ball home with a diving header. 2-0, how it would end as Adelaide collected three points.
