12 minutes after half-time, Inter striker Samuel Eto'o was brilliantly picked out by Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta - and the African number nine smashed the ball past keeper Sebastien Frey.

Eleven minutes from time Javier Zanetti dragged a shot past the left post - as the pressure increased, in stoppage-time, Gilardino failed to make a decisive connection with Zanetti's inviting chip. But inter won 2-0 on aggregate.
