Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has left Tehran for New York to attend the annual United Nations General Assembly.He is scheduled to give a speech on Wednesday.

Ahmadinejad is expected to come under heavy pressure over his country's nuclear issue. Iran is also poised to enter key negotiations with the United States and other powers, seeking concessions on Iran's nuclear programme on October 1st.

The US and its allies suspect Tehran has enough enriched uranium to build a bomb, but Iran claims the uranium is for generating electricity. Before Ahmadinejad's departure for New York, he offered his opinions on tackling the global crisis.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iranian President, said, "The Iranian nation has humane views and fundamental solutions for the world's current situation. The UN General Assembly will be a good opportunity to put forward these views and solutions."
