Negotiators representing the deposed Honduran president Manual Zelaya and the de facto government have left a Tegucigalpa hotel sharing smiles.
They said progress had been made in their third day of talks on Friday. But tensions remain high and clashes broke out between protesters and police.
Police fired tear gas and water to disperse a protest outside the hotel where the two sides were negotiating to end the three-month political standoff.
De facto president Roberto Micheletti says he's content with the progress made. But the two camps have yet to touch on the core issue, returning Zelaya to power before elections next month.
