In the wake of Iraq's deadly blasts UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the twin car bombings. The blasts killed 147 people and injured another 700.

No groups have claimed responsibility for the attack. The attacks apparently targeted Iraqi justice and administration buildings.

Police, say the attacks aimed to disrupt and destabilize democracy, in the lead up to Iraq's January elections.
