UN nuclear inspectors are conducting their first check on Iran's newly-disclosed uranium enrichment facilities near the central city of Qom.

The International Atomic Energy Agency team arrived in Iran on Sunday. The four members are scheduled to study plant blueprints, interview workers and take soil samples during their three-day mission.

Their job is to verify the facilities are for peaceful purposes. The inspection comes about a month after Tehran disclosed its existence in a letter to the IAEA. No results are expected until the team leaves Iran.
