Tropical Storm Mirinae has unleashed severe flooding in parts of central Vietnam. So far, it has killed eleven people, left two missing and forced families onto rooftops.

10 deaths were reported in Phu Yen Province after heavy rains drenched the region on Monday. Several villages in neighboring Binh Dinh Province suffered the worst flooding in four decades after the Ha Thanh River surged over its banks.

One man drowned in Binh Dinh and two others were missing. Local authorities have asked the central government to send helicopters to rescue people who are still trapped on rooftops a day after the storm.
