School gunman surrenders to police in US

In the United States a gunman holding a high school principal hostage in a school 144 kilometers north of New York City, surrendered to police.

Officials, say no one was hurt, and the gunman has been taken into police custody. The gunman was holding the principal of Stissing Mountain High School hostage, Tuesday morning.

Roughly 100 policemen responded to the incident and had the gunman contained to a room. The school has about 500 students.

The gunman apaprently has two sons who attend the school, but according to school officials, neither was currently enrolled.
