French special envoy, Jack Lang, is preparing to wrap up his visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Lang told reporters at his hotel in Pyongyang, that during the five intense days of meetings, he had many frank and cordial conversations on a wide range of issues.

He said he was able to speak freely with many of the DPRK's top government officials. Lang added he will meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, in the coming days to report on his trip.

France is one of only two European countries that does not have diplomatic relations with the DPRK. Lang has said his visit is examining the possibility of establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries.
