President Hu Jintao has met the speaker of the South Korean National Assembly, Kim Hyong-o, at the Great Hall of the People. Their talks on Friday morning focused on bilateral ties and parliamentary exchanges.
President Hu Jintao said high level exchanges between the two countries have been frequent and the two governments have coordinated closely on regional and international issues. Cooperation and achievements in priority fields, such as trade, environmental protection and energy, have been remarkable.
Hu Jintao said China is ready to expand its all-round cooperation with South Korea and upgrade the strategic partnership to a higher level. Kim Hyong-o spoke highly of the Chinese government's measures to deal with the global financial crisis and to stimulate economic growth. He said the bilateral ties are at their best ever. He said the South Korean National Assembly is willing to work closely with China's NPC to further boost bilateral ties.
